With beautiful views over a golf course at the rear, this once ordinary property has been transformed to provide exceptionally spacious accommodation. The pitched roof was removed to make way for an additional storey providing two huge bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. The exterior has been clad in a combination of painted larch and basalt stone to blend into the sloping plot surrounded by Scot Pine trees. Particular attention was paid to the roof design in order to provide spacious accommodation yet reduce potential impact to the neighbouring property. This very sensitive site required an appropriate approach to the design. A pre-application consultation with the local planning authority proved to be very useful as the full consent was gained within five weeks of the full application.
