Old Rectory Lodge, Bletchingley

This was an interesting situation where the owner of a single storey lodge style property wanted to demolish the adjacent ugly, block built garages and replace it with an ‘annexe’ for her to occupy while her daughter and family would move into the lodge thereby close enough to provide support for each other.

This became a challenge because the property in set within a ‘Greenbelt’ area of Surrey. Previous attempts to gain consent for a family home on the generous plot were all unsuccessful. The owners approached me with a brief to remodel and extend the existing lodge and, if possible, gain planning consent for an annexe.

Working along side much valued planning consultants, we developed a scheme which worked within this very sensitive area and, provided the family with their ideal homes.
